Managing Director

As Managing Director, Ray has had a key role in the development and promotion of the NDE consultancy, training and examination services, creating an integrated training solution to accommodate an ever-increasing demand around the world.

Ray has over 20 years experience and a wealth of knowledge having lectured on Radiographic Testing (RT)/ Radiographic Interpretation (RI), Eddy Current Inspection (ET), Ultrasonic Inspection (UT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT) and Liquid Particle Inspection (PT) services. Ray has also received an ASNT Level 3 (95133) in MT, UT AND PCN Level 3 (203664) in MT, PT, UT, RT and ET methods.

His field experience has provided training and certification in NDT in accordance with company based schemes SNT/TC/1A and individual schemes such as PCN (ISO 9712). His extensive involvement in NDT Inspection and Rope Access has also involved him in the co-ordination of large onshore and offshore projects, both nationally and internationally. 

Ray has experience in the manufacture, fabrication, in-service inspection and integrity and has worked world wide, visiting locations such as  Luanda Angola, Port Harcourt & Lagos Nigeria, Congo, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Russia, Siberia, Baku Azerbaijan, Romania, Hoch Amin City, Hanoi Vietnam, Brazil, Singapore, Johannesburg, France, Italy, Canada, Houston, Ciudad del Carmen - Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.

With this experience, Ray is fully versed on training requirements across the globe and has the specialist skills needed to pinpoint, develop and deliver bespoke training programmes to meet the individuals specific environment, industry and location.

Technical Director

Ray has worked in the NDT field for over 16 years. With a wide range of onshore and offshore applications worldwide, involving all aspects of Topside and Subsea NDT inspection with applications as a 3.4u working with divers and ROV’s.

His primary role was as Project Supervisor and Subsea Inspection Coordinator. He is level 2 in 5 NDT disciplines PCN in MT, PT, UT, and ET. He also holds a CSWIP 3.4U and ACFM. He is currently working towards his NDT Level 3’s.

Ray’s appointment as Technical Director will involve him in assisting with day to day running of the company with an active role in Consultancies on both Ropes and NDT methods. Ray will also be involved in lecturing, invigilation of examination and administer competency assessment of students attending. We are delighted to welcome Ray into the company.

RAY 4294 LOWBernie Steel

Principal Consultant

Bernie plays a leading role in the development and promotion of the NDT consultancy service and assists the training teams, particularly with respect to specialist methods and techniques.

Bernie has over 35 years experience and extensively knowledge of both conventional and specialised NDT methods. Holding ASNT NDT Level 3 in 4 subjects and EN ISO 9712 (PCN) Level 3 in 7 Subjects.

Extensively travelled having worked in over 25 countries, as a technician and later as clients’ representative, NDT auditor, trainer and examiner. He has a wide range of hands on experience that includes testing during fabrication of offshore platforms, refineries, coal, gas and nuclear power generation. Latterly Bernie worked in integrity management and monitoring. Additionally Bernie has been actively involved in quality management and has assisted a number of companies in gaining UKAS accreditation for their NDT services.

Currently Bernie’s responsibilities include providing NDT consultancy services for both large and small companies, assisting in the development of specialised testing techniques for not-standard applications as well as the preparation and presentation of specialised bespoke training courses, including introduction to corrosion and its suitable detection techniques.

 

Kerry Ann Van Der SchyffKerry-Ann Van Der Schyff

Course Coordinator

Kerry joined the Array Training after graduating from Aberdeen University with a Bachelor of Science in Geography in 2011. She is originally from South Africa and has been in the UK for around 10 years.

Kerry’s primary responsibility as course administrator is to coordinate all training and examination activities, from company or student enquiry.

Kerry collates all relevant documentation and evidence to ensure that all candidates recieve applicable course material and information leading to their respective certifications. She also manages quotations, issues all certification to successful candidates/companies and supports the IRATA Rope Access function when required.

Course Coordinator

Claire joined Rigmar in 2013 as a course coordinator.

Claire’s primary focus is coordinating IRATA Rope Access training activity.

To make sure delegates have the best learning experience, Claire collates all relevant documentation to make sure they have the support of relevant course material.

Although Claire is also trained to support the NDT function and coordinates all invoicing for both subjects.

Course Coordinator

Claire Bailey joined array training early 2015 as administration coordinator. Claire brings with her previous knowledge in NDT which meant she was an ideal addition to the admin team. She is assisting with all administration tasks including Rope Access, NDT and Examinations.

Micheal90Mike Wtorkiewicz

NDT Lecturer

Mike joined the team in 2014 bringing almost 10 years of NDT experience on board. His fields of expertise include mainly aerospace Radiography, Penetrant and Magnetic Inspection and as aerospace Level III he also travelled across to America helping develop, implement and standardise manufacturing and inspection processes.

His work experience include both new product manufacture and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) for world-wide known companies as Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, GE Aviation. His appointment as NDT Lecturer extends company scope and helps diversify skills and expertise in order to bring NDT training to a higher level. His attention to details and awareness will help deliver world-class NDT training for the students.

ChrisBalanChristian Balan

NDT Lecturer

Cristian brings over 6 years experience in NDT, working firstly as an NDT Technician and latterly moving into a supervisor role.
He has a strong understanding of industry requirements and is qualified in MPI, DPI, RT, RI and UT.

As course lecturer Cristian will be responsible for delivering NDT training in the respective disciplines and is driven to deliver an authentic training experience that will prepare delegates for a role in NDT.

Quality Assurance

Jan works alongside the Array Training team on a consultancy basis and maintains the quality management system to the ISO9001; 2008 standard, including the generation of written practices alongside Ray.

She supports the Array Training with its internal and external audit program, as well as its continuous improvement activities including BINDT, PCN and DNV audits.  Jan is also responsible for the completion of vendor questionnaires and the supply of supporting documentation to our clients as requested.
