Within its first year of trading, Aberdeen based Rigmar Training Centre, has been awarded ISO9001:2008 Certification from awarding body Det Norske Veritas (DNV).

This certificate gives global recognition of the stability of the company’s quality management system and demonstrates the Centre’s compliance and commitment to industry-respected practices.

Managing Director, Ray Wilson, launched the site in 2012 and believes that certification will help the company secure new business and further build on its success to date. He said ‘I started up the Rigmar Training Centre with the vision to create a centre of excellence for NDE and rope access training, as well as to advise industry leaders through our consultancy services. To date, over £500,000 has been invested in the Centre with this ambition in mind.

‘Within a short space of time we built up the NDT division securing accreditation and approvals from leading industry bodies such as the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) that provides us with the approval to administer training and examination under both PCN and SNT schemes.

‘This recent certification demonstrates our commitment to efficient work practices and business objectives: resulting in easily defined responsibilities, reduces costs and a high level of customer satisfaction, amongst other benefits.’

In June, the Rigmar Training Centre also secured accreditation from International Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA), expanding its services to include IRATA Rope Access training and consultancy services.

Speaking of the milestone, Ray said, ‘The launch of the rope access division is the second phase of our strategic growth plan and early response to the service has been exceptional. To achieve one accolade within a month is an achievement. To achieve two demonstrates the experience and calibre of the team at the Rigmar Training Centre as well as our ability to ensure quality remains at an internationally recognised level during a period of accelerated growth.’

Tilo Phillips, has been appointed as IRATA Rope Access Training Manager to manage the rope access division. Bringing 12 years of Rope Access experience to the role, the IRATA Level 3 Instructor/Assessor says: ‘Rigmar Training is an ambitious company. I am delighted to have joined Rigmar and to have the opportunity to continue to deliver high quality IRATA Rope Access training as part of Ray’s team.’

New website launched

Rigmar Training Centre recently launched a brand new website to communicate the high standard of consultancy and training services delivered by the newly established Centre to the in-service inspection industry.

Having recently invested £500,000 to create a state of the art training facility, the website is a further demonstration of the company’s continued commitment to provide flexible training solutions to meet the needs of its candidates.

Array Training invest £500,000 in new facility

Since launched in August 2012, Array Training Ltd has invested over £500,000 in a state of the art NDE and Rope Access Training facility in Aberdeen.

The specialist providers of consultancy, training and examination services to the in-service inspection industry, says this recent investment was required to accommodate the high demand for its services received worldwide.

Ray Wilson, Managing Director of Rigmar Training said: ‘Rigmar Training aims to be the centre of excellence leading provider of NDE and Rope access training services. It is with this vision that we decided to invest in the facility and continue to focus on staff development to ensure we provide the best learning experience to our candidates.

Array Training Centre tackles alcohol misuse in the workplace

Aberdeen based, Array Training donates £1,000 to local charity DRiNKLiNK, with the aim to reduce the risk of alcohol misuse to businesses across the North East.

The Array Training offer total training solutions, providing consultancy, training and examination training services to the in-service inspection industry.

Speaking on behalf of the company, Ray Wilson, Managing Director of Rigmar Training Centre said: ‘DRiNKLiNK achieved charity status just one month before the launch of the Rigmar Training Centre. We are pleased to get involved with DRiNKLiNK at such an early stage and help the organisation to reach its 2013 fundraising target. Alcohol misuse poses significant risk in the workplace and we are delighted to support an organisation that shares our objective of create a safe working environment for staff.’

The donation will be put towards the development of an online information portal, expected to launch in May 2013. The portal will be developed in furtherance of DRiNKLiNK’s objective to promote supportive information to those affected by alcohol misuse within their family, friends and workplace.

As well as making a financial donation, the Rigmar Training Centre has also contributed towards the website content, suggesting information topics useful to employers and employees alike when implementing an alcohol policy.

DRiNKLiNK Chairperson, Stacey Summers, said the website will be an important resource for businesses and commented: ‘Alcohol misuse costs the UK economy £6bn a year and an estimated 17 million working days are lost each year by people missing work due to the effects of alcohol. Unsupported by a robust alcohol policy and implementation strategy, businesses are at significant risk of legal prosecution.

‘Regardless of size, all businesses must protect themselves from alcohol in the workplace and through the new website, we will provide information on the roles and responsibilities throughout all levels of the organisation.

‘For the website to be successful, we need to understand the needs of out target audience and the input offered by Rigmar Training Centre and our partners will help us to do this. DRiNKLiNK is still in its embryonic stages and we were delighted have the support of the training provider.’
